This project forms part of the nationwide “HSBC Water Programme – Catch the Drop” campaign, and engages students in a long-term and meaningful creative process that raises awareness of the importance of water to the Maltese Islands and the wider Mediterranean area through a creative process involving artists, teachers and, most importantly, students. The work is in the context of the current school curriculum and in cooperation with the Department of Education to create a holistic environmental and creative programme for school children. Through the project, French artist Sébastien Cailleux and Maltese artist Luca Cauchi worked with four schools in Malta and Gozo spread across three scholastic years, 2015/2016, 2016/2017 and 2017/2018. To fit the concept of water, the project was conducted using watercolours.
